Terms of Sale & Use

These terms govern your use of Cantarova and any song you buy from us. Please read the sections on delivery, the licence you receive, and cancellation especially carefully.

1. Who you are contracting with

Cantarova operates the website at cantarova.com and sells the personalised songs described on it. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Cantarova, and "you" means the person using the site or placing an order.

You can reach us at support@cantarova.com. That address is monitored by the people who run the service, and it is the fastest way to resolve anything covered by these terms.

We sell to customers in the United States. The service is not offered to, or directed at, customers elsewhere, and prices, taxes, and these terms are written on that basis.

2. Who may use Cantarova

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. If you are under 18, you may use Cantarova only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf and pays for the order.

You must give us an email address you can actually access. Your song, your receipt, and your sign-in links are all delivered by email, and we cannot deliver an order to an address that does not work.

3. How your song is made

Cantarova is an automated service. Your song is generated by artificial intelligence, not performed by human musicians, and no human writes or reviews your lyrics before they reach you.

The process runs in this order:

  1. You complete the wizard: style, genre, voice, song language, who the song is for, and the story you want it built around.
  2. Original lyrics are written from what you provided.
  3. You review those lyrics. You can edit them or ask for a rewrite, free of charge, before anything is charged to you.
  4. We generate short preview clips so you can hear the song before you decide.
  5. If you are happy, you pay, and we produce and deliver the full version.

Because the vocals, instrumentation, and arrangement are generated rather than recorded, the finished song will not sound identical to the preview clips, and two songs made from the same inputs will differ. This is a characteristic of how the service works, not a defect.

4. What you receive

Every paid order includes:

  • A full-length MP3 of your song, downloadable from your account and linked in your delivery email.
  • A private shareable gift page with its own link and cover artwork.
  • A printable PDF of the lyrics.
  • A generated cover image.
  • Access to all of the above from your account for as long as your account exists.

Premium orders additionally include multiple full versions to choose between and the ability to request a lyric-edit re-render after delivery. The exact contents of each tier are shown on the pricing page at the time you order, and that description forms part of these terms.

5. What you may do with your song

When your payment clears, we grant you a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use your song for personal, non-commercial purposes. That includes:

  • Playing it, keeping it, and giving it to the person it was written for.
  • Sharing it privately with family and friends, including by sending them the gift page link.
  • Playing it at a private event such as a wedding, birthday, or funeral.
  • Posting it on your personal social media accounts.

This licence does not permit you to:

  • Sell, license, or otherwise commercially exploit the song.
  • Distribute it to streaming platforms such as Spotify or Apple Music, or monetise it through them.
  • Use it in advertising, in a paid or sponsored production, or in any other commercial context.
  • Register it with a performing-rights organisation or claim it in a content-identification system such as YouTube Content ID.
  • Present it as having been written or performed by a human artist.

If you need commercial rights, contact us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether we can offer them for your use case.

Copyright in AI-generated music is unsettled. The U.S. Copyright Office has taken the position that material generated by artificial intelligence without sufficient human authorship is not protected by copyright. We therefore cannot and do not promise that you will own enforceable copyright in your song, or that you can stop someone else using something similar.

6. The story and names you give us

You keep ownership of the story, names, and details you submit. You give us permission to use them for the sole purpose of producing and delivering your order.

Because your song is usually about someone else, you confirm that you are entitled to share the details you give us about that person, and that doing so will not breach their privacy or harm them.

7. What you may not submit

Almost every song made here is a gift, and this section will never trouble you. It exists for the small number of cases where it needs to. Do not submit anything that:

  • Harasses, threatens, bullies, defames, or humiliates a real person.
  • Sexualises a child in any way, or depicts a minor sexually.
  • Promotes hatred or violence against people because of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
  • Encourages self-harm, suicide, or violence against anyone.
  • Is designed to impersonate a real person, or to make it appear that a real artist performed the song.
  • Reproduces the lyrics of an existing copyrighted song, or asks for a song in the voice of a named recording artist.
  • Contains someone else's private information, such as their address, phone number, or financial details.
  • Is unlawful where you live or where the recipient lives.

Submitted content is screened automatically before we generate anything. If an order is blocked you are told politely, and you are not charged. Screening is imperfect in both directions: if yours was blocked and you think that was wrong, email us and a person will look at it.

If someone has made a song about you and you want it taken down, email us with the gift page link. We will disable the page while we look into it, and we will not ask you to prove anything first. The same applies if you hold rights in material you believe has been reproduced.

Depending on what happened, we may refuse the order, take down a gift page, close the account, or, where the law requires it, report the matter. Where we refuse an order before delivery, you are not charged.

8. Prices and payment

The price shown at checkout is the total you pay, including any tax that applies to your order. There is no subscription, and nothing recurs. The currency is fixed when you start your order, so the price you were shown in the preview is the price you are charged.

Payment is handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. Your order is confirmed only once the processor tells us the payment has succeeded, and a redirect back to our site is not, by itself, confirmation.

Occasionally we run genuine time-limited offers. Where a countdown is shown, the discount really does end when it says it does.

9. Delivery

We aim to deliver within minutes of payment, and the overwhelming majority of orders arrive that fast. Occasionally an order takes longer because a generation step has to be retried.

If your song has not arrived within 24 hours of payment, contact us. If we cannot deliver it at all, we will refund you in full.

Delivery emails sometimes land in spam or promotions folders. Your song is always available in your account regardless of what happened to the email.

10. Changes after delivery

If a name in your song is pronounced wrongly, tell us and we will fix the pronunciation and re-render the track at no charge. This is the single most common issue and we treat it as a defect, not a favour.

Premium orders may also request a lyric edit after delivery. Free revisions are limited in number; the current limit is shown on your order page.

A re-rendered song replaces the original at the same links, so any gift page you have already shared updates automatically.

11. Cancellation and refunds

You hear preview clips of your song before you are asked for money, and you authorise us to begin producing the full version as soon as you pay. Once production has begun, the order is final. What we will always put right, and how to ask, are set out in full in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.

12. Availability of the service

We try to keep Cantarova running continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may suspend the service for maintenance, or withdraw features, without notice.

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, or if we reasonably suspect fraud. Where we do that to an account with paid orders in it, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to download what you have already bought unless the law prevents us.

13. Our responsibility to you

Except as expressly stated in these terms and in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, the service and every song produced through it are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business losses. This service is sold for personal use.

Where we are liable, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is the case, the exclusions and limits above apply to you only to the extent your state permits, and nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. If something goes wrong

Email us first at support@cantarova.com with your order reference and what happened. Nearly everything is resolved this way within a day, and it is faster than any formal route.

If we cannot resolve it between us, either of us may pursue the matter in court. Please talk to us before raising a chargeback with your bank: a chargeback takes weeks, and while it is open we are not able to fix the underlying problem for you.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the version published when you placed it, and we do not apply changes retrospectively to orders already made.

16. Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of Cantarova, are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which we operate, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
